Kyle "Cheeto" Mohr
Kyle grew
up in Monmouth, Iowa which is a short drive from Camp Wyoming. His
father, Randy, is a farmer and his mother, Anita, works in the Special
Education department at the Lost Nation Middle School. He has a sister,
Melissa, who currently lives in Chicago. She worked as a Camp Counselor
at Camp Wyoming in 2001.
Kyle graduated from Midland High School in 2000 and then enrolled in
Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa. He later transferred to the
Savannah College of Art & Design where he graduated with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree in Animation. He currently lives in Lindenhurst, New
York which is located on Long Island. Kyle is doing freelance animation
in the advertising industry. He dreams of working with a company like
PIXAR who make the popular movies such as “Toy Story” and “The
Incredibles.”
Kyle has bright red hair and was given the nickname of “Cheeto” at Camp.
He began working at Camp Wyoming in the summer of 2000. He was a member
of the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming where Rev. Jim Langley
served as its Pastor. Jim’s wife, Kim, was the Program Director of Camp
Wyoming at the time and motivated him to apply for a summer staff
position. Cheeto worked for 5 summers and filled staff roles such as
Archery Instructor, Cabin Counselor, and Block House Coordinator. Kyle
has recently volunteered these past few years during the summer where he
helped with a Trailblazers Camp, the Leaders-in-Training program, and
the T.T.T. camps. He has also returned during the Christmas season to
volunteer for our Winter Youth Retreat, Wintertainment.
Cheeto loves to play the guitar, draw, sketch, and listen to music.
Tacos are his favorite food and “Back to the Future” is his favorite
movie. He enjoys being at Camp because “it’s a good place to let loose
and be wacky. That’s what makes Camp different from other youth
programs. It’s a fun and exciting place that stimulates your
spirituality and strengthens your faith.” Kyle really enjoyed working at
Camp because of the relationships he built with the campers and staff,
especially those individuals who returned year after year. “The
Community symbolized the wholesome aspect of the Camp ministry.”
We have been blessed with Kyle’s musical and artistic talents and his
commitment to Camp. Thank you, Cheeto!
