Rev. Gavin Finefield, Board Secretary
Gavin has been on the Camp Wyoming Board for the past two years. He has
been a great asset to the Board and currently wears the hat of Board
Secretary. Gavin first heard of Camp Wyoming through the youth and
families of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dubuque, Iowa where he
enjoys his position as Associate Pastor. During the Souper Bowl Sunday
event at Westminster, Gavin received the most votes to be the recipient
of a pie in the face. He graciously accepted the honor.
When asked about his church involvement, Gavin replied, “24/7, what is
the point of leaving?” He loves working in the church and has certainly
recognized his
calling to do God’s work.
When not working, Gavin enjoys spending time with his friend Becky,
working on his house, kayaking, climbing, reading and anything that
gives him a chance to appreciate God’s creation. The last book he read
was Watership Down by Richard Addams. His favorite meal is a grilled
hamburger, spicy french fries, a garden salad and any form of chocolate.
Gavin also enjoys gardening, art, cooking and having friends over. Ask
him about his imaginary Wilda-Beast. Something Gavin thought he’d never
see was a natural gas explosion near his hometown of Streator, Illinois.
Celebrating God’s goodness with people is what gives Gavin great joy.
We thank Gavin for celebrating
with Camp Wyoming!
