Rev. Tim Snart
The year was 1990. The Simpsons debuted on FOX and Rev. Tim Snart
debuted at Camp Wyoming, both became instant hits. Tim was serving as
the Pastor for Sharon Presbyterian and West Point Presbyterian and
recruited youth to attend Camp Wyoming. In 1994, Tim was called to be
the Pastor at the Coal Valley Presbyterian Church in Coal Valley, IL.
Here he continues to promote Camp Wyoming to youth. Tim provides general
leadership for the church and teaches an adult Sunday School class and
Bible Study.
Tim grew up in Green Lake, WI and graduated from Green Lake Public High
School. Tim’s father was the Principal and Tim fondly refers to himself
as a “PK” (Principal’s Kid). Tim worked a year as a Shipping Clerk prior
to enrolling in college at the University of Wisconsin, OshKosh. Here he
was a business major earning his degree in Operations Management in
1983. He then went on to be the Director of Respite Care for United
Cerebral Palsy. The Fall of 1986 took Tim to Louisville, KY where he
enrolled in the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Tim’s first pastoral assignment was with the Madison Presbyterian and
Jeffersonville Presbyterian Churches in Madison, IN. It is here that one
particular member continually stood out. This member would later become
his wife, Lori. They were married in 1989. Tim and Lori have two
children, Ben who is 16 and Jennifer who is 10. Both kids enjoy
attending Camp Wyoming each summer. Tim and Lori enjoyed an Alaskan
cruise (something he thought he’d never see) in 2002 for their
anniversary.
Tim enjoys spending time with his family, boating, fishing and
woodworking. His favorite meal is a sirloin steak and baked potato. The
last book he read was Shoeless Joe Jackson and the last movie he saw was
Evan Almighty. Tim’s greatest joys in life are serving the Lord and
spending time with his family.
Tim likes the enthusiasm of the Camp Wyoming staff and enjoys working
with them. Tim has seen the Camp Wyoming program evolve throughout the
years as he’s spent a week each summer volunteering as a Director. This
summer Tim volunteered his time to participate in the Resident Pastor
program. This program encourages Pastors to spend a week at Camp
interacting with the campers and participating in activities. Tim feels
the addition of the Resident Pastor program is a great idea.
Thank you Tim for keeping Camp Wyoming a part of your Summer tradition!
